The idea of the first conference ENERSUD was born in 2004, after 3 years since the "Solar Cookers for Africa" campaign (for further reference see: www.oltreilconfine.it), by which the two associations, Salvambiente and Oltreilconfine of Trezzano S/N (Milan), had the opportunity to get in touch with many organizations which have been promoting renewable energy sources and  appropriate technologies in international cooperation projects for years.

The apparent isolation of these interesting experiences, and the urgent need to create a network where to exchange the knowledge of the participants, brought these associations to call the first National Conference on Renewable Energy and Appropriate Technologies for the South of the World, held in 2006 in Trezzano S/N, and a second edition in 2007, during the Fair "Do the Right Thing" in Milan.

The participation and the interest shown by presences and speeches convinced us to continue to support and promote this project, and for this reason "Turn off the waste, turn on the development" is expecting the organization of two conferences within December 2010.

We would like to invite to these conferences representatives of innovative and not well-known projects both of the North and the South of the World.
